Anchorage! A great place to push off from, folks generally use it as a base; fly in and get supplies in town and pick up a rental car in Anchorage and then drive out of town to see Alaska. (I’d 100% recommend renting your own private vehicle). But there’s still quite a few things to fill your time in the town itself.
There are hikes everywhere but there’s Flattop peak right outside Anchorage, so if you’re staying in Anchorage I recommend that one.
