Corsica is what you can imagine the South of France was like 80 years ago. The north remains an insider’s secret – a charmed part, little explored and much less developed, where national parks spread for miles, and peaks give way to small fishing villages and perfect bays of powdery white sand lapped by opalescent waves. I would absolutely recommend renting a car – driving Corsica’s winding coastal and mountain roads is half the romance!
Fly into Ajaccio, (stay at Les Mouettes if you need a nearby hotel) and then head north.
