A long, art-packed history has marked Santa Fe as one of the world’s great art cities. The wide variety of markets and galleries present now in the city are largely due to Native women who wanted to create a marketplace for their pottery. Despite the introduction of high brow art to Santa Fe, the heart of the city, the famous Plaza, is home to America’s largest, oldest and most prestigious Native American Art festival.
