As the first city ever to be named a UNESCO heritage site, this historical capital offers a lot for the planless wanderer. But hidden in the hills and less touristic neighborhoods there are, of course, some secrets dying to be divulged.
For your home base, we suggest the neighborhoods of La Floresta (less touristy but still lively, design and art focused and generally where young professionals/families hang out, coffee shops and independent cinemas aplenty), and hillside Guápulo, where you can see the Sanctuary of Guápulo and stunning views of the valley and distant Andes.
