East Cesar Chavez has become super hip in recent years, but it’s also historically a Latino community and is a perfect example of a neighborhood exuding a bit of Austin’s original personality. You’ve got spots like Lolo, a natural wine bar, fun vibe & neighborhood. Lots of bars & restaurants around here/walking distance. Then around the corner jam to some tunes at the White Horse honky-tonk on Comal Street, “one of the oldest and most authentically Austin joints in town.” You’ve also got Cisco’s, the storied Mexican breakfast spot on East Sixth Street and Hillside Farmacy on East 11th Street, described as an “antique chic” eatery with eclectic offerings. Look at the Heywood boutique hotel.
