The air is getting colder, the kids are back in school, and the sidewalks are strewn with leaves. It’s autumn in Paris, and we’re back with our seasonal guide! So whether you live in Paris or will just be passing through, read on for our recommendations of what do do, eat, and see as we move into the colder months…
The Palais Royal is one of those magical places in Paris where you take an early evening stroll, weaving in and out of the marble covered arcades beneath the fluted pilasters and Corinthian capitals, and wonder: who is lucky enough to live inside those apartments that overlook the 17th century royal enclave with its trickling fountains and elegant rose beds? So when you get an invitation to spend an evening inside one of those Palais Royal apartments, you don’t hesitate to take it. The talented American duo, Braden Perkins and Laura Adrian, behind the wildly successful Verjus wine bar and restaurant, are now taking reservations for their intimate supper club called the Twenty Two Club, which they’ve artfully set up in a vacant historical property overlooking the iconic palace gardens (the kind of rare Parisian real estate traditionally reserved for government officials). While their nearby restaurants remain closed following the pandemic due to various bureaucratic and refurbishment delays, Braden and Laura decided to keep calm and make lemonade – or in this case – supper; for up to 22 guests twice a week on Friday and Saturday evenings.
